Day 47 (1.5m) after Procedure (No more shedding!)

It's roughly 1.5 month after my transplant procedure and I am happy to say that shedding has finally slowed down since 2 days ago. I only see 1 to 2 fallen hairs during shampoo now. This is how it looks like now. If you compared it to 2 weeks ago (photo on below), you will notice a significant drop in density but those which survived the shedding stage definitely grew long and healthy. In fact, not a single person noticed I did something to my hair unless I told them so, which proves how natural it actually looks like to outsiders. Photo taken on 12 Jul (1 month after procedure) Front and sides view. Donor area. No more redness or itchiness. Now that shedding has reduced, I am expecting better hair density in my next post. Stay tuned for update and ask me if you are curious about anything. Cheers~

Day 42 (1m 12d) after Procedure

Hey there. It does worry me a little seeing quite a number of hairs on hand during shampoo. But knowing it's the shedding stage and noticing baby hairs at those empty follicles do helps. I think I am at the peak of shedding stage now after comparing Today's and last week's photo. I did trimmed the hairs a little to even out the length.  Implanted hairs tend to grow upward. Can say it's fully recovered cause it feels absolutely normal even when you touch it. Until next time, cheers~

Day 38 (1m 1w) after Procedure

Just realized it's only been 3 weeks plus since I started medication (hair gel & supplements). I suppose it takes time to see some significant effects.  As the growth rate for each hair differs, you can see uneven hair length all over the place.  Shedding continues but started to see baby hair popping out from empty follicles.  Front and sides view. The same uneven hair length. Donor and crown area. Until the next post, cheers~

DHI vs FUE (Video)

Just want to share a video I found online which shows the difference between method used by DHI and FUE method offered at elsewhere. I am not trying to promote anything here but those questions shown in the video are those you should definitely look out before you decided to go with the procedure. I had them listed on below. 1. Who performs the procedure? 2. How are hairs extracted? 3. Graft survival ratio? 4. Are angle, direction & depth controlled? 5. How hairs are implanted? 6. Is the process scar-free? Do let me know if you have any inquiry as I might be able to help you with my experience. Again, this is not an advertisement :) Cheers~

Day 35 (1m 5d) after Procedure

Hi, it's time to update you guys :) As you know, I just had my first PRP treatment last weekend and honestly since then there's not much different except the continuous shedding. Doctor said the shedding might go on for some time. From the top view, if you look closer you will notice quite a number of empty follicles at the implanted area which I suppose is normal for this shedding stage. One good thing is it kind of even out the density between implanted and existing area, reducing the awkwardness.  Front and sides view. I guess it takes time for the PRP treatment to take effect, especially on the crown area. Stay tuned for more updates! Cheers~

My First PRP Treatment!

First of all, what's PRP? It stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma and it's in our blood! In short, this treatment uses growth factor from our own blood and inject it back to ourselves to jump start the healing process. As we are unlikely to be allergic to our own blood,  it's considered an extremely safe treatment option. The whole treatment took around 1 hour and this is what I went through. 1. Signed consent form from clinic. 2. Blood was drawn from arm while anesthetic cream was applied to the whole scalp. 3. The blood was placed in a centrifuge machine to separate platelet from the rest of the blood components. Platelet-rich plasma was then extracted into few injection syringes. This process alone took around 30 mins. 4. Second layer of anesthetic cream was applied. 15 mins later, hair was washed. 5. Platelet-rich plasma was injected into hair loss area including implanted area. Though anesthetic cream was applied twice, the injection still hurts especially at th

Day 30 after Procedure (1 Month!)

Finally, it's been a month since my hair transplant procedure! Everything is good so far and I am actually comfortable walking around without wearing a cap. To sum up my 1 month journey: Day 0: 6 hours of transplant procedure Day 1: Bandages removed from the back of scalp at clinic Day 3: Full head wash at clinic Day 7: All scabs removed Day 10: Resume mild exercise Day 14: Clinic visit. Got shampoo, hair gel & supplements Day 19: Starts to notice significant hair growth & shedding Day 30: Resume normal exercise routine Weekly comparison ⤵ A simple video on my 1 month journey ⤵ Thanks guys for following my blog. I will definitely do a post on PRP treatment once I go through one on tomorrow. Stay tuned and thanks again! Cheers~

Day 29 after Procedure

It's almost a month since my transplant procedure and I am happy with the result so far. More shedding during shampoo. Starts to see some density near the edge though still long way to go. Front and sides view. Happy to see some growing hairs near crown area. I will do a summary video for my past 1 month journey. So stay tuned! Cheers guys~

Day 27 after Procedure

Hello to brand new week! I can say that hair growth has been significant since the application of hair gel (Minoxidil+Finasteride), shampoo & medication on Day 14. It's quite obvious that the implanted hair grows much thicker than existing hair. It does feel soft and natural but still looks a bit messy no matter how much i try to comb it. Front and sides view. The transition area looks more natural now compared to last week. Donor area covered up. Glad that no one noticed anything until I tell them. It's been good progress so far and I expect better result after my upcoming PRP treatment :) Do check in for updates. Cheers~

Day 23 after Procedure

Folks it's Friday! How's everyone doing? It looks like a mess from near, with each hair pointing at it's once direction. I think I will only start combing them after pass the one month point. Hair shedding continues. I see around 7 to 8 tiny hairs on hand during shampoo.  Front and sides view. Donor area. You will feel some sort of minor numbness upon touching. Other than that, it just feels normal. Can't wait to have my first PRP treatment on next week to boost the growth. Til then stay tuned! Enjoy your weekend! Cheers~

Day 21 after Procedure (3 Weeks!)

It's been 3 weeks since I went through the hair transplant procedure! The implanted hairs do feel softer and more natural as they grow longer. I think I am at the shedding stage now as I noticed quite a few of hair falls during shampoo. Nothing serious as it's not affecting the overall look yet. Front and sides view. It definitely looks more natural now compared to last week. Donor area. Hope the hair gel is working it's magic on the crown area. Stay tuned for update! Cheers~

Day 19 after Procedure

It's July and it's Monday...again. As my initial hair is more to soft and thin type, the implanted hairs seem less 'spiky' as they grow longer.  I did noticed some light shedding (2 to 3 hairs on hand) during shampoo. I am expecting some major shedding soon. Front and sides view. Donor area well covered. Just minor itchiness once in a while. I will update once in a few days and on important milestones. Thanks for dropping by. Cheers~
