Day 16 after Procedure

Doctor said it's OK to resume workout but no heavy lifting. Wonder why is that. Feels good to get some serious exercise while waiting for the growing miracle on head. Clearly not all the hairs grow at the same rate.  Front and sides view. Donor area. Stay tuned! Cheers~

Day 15 after Procedure

Feels good to finally have medication to boost hair growth. Check up my previous post for details on medication. Starts to notice direction of the implanted hair as it grows longer. Not aware of any shedding so far. Front & sides view. Donor area almost covered up. Thanks for checking in. Cheers~

Day 14 after Procedure (Clinic Visit, Medication & Cost)

Let me share what I've got from clinic visit. Doctor advised to start taking medication from Day 14 onward as below. 1. To Apply Option 1. Minoxidil 5% (apply twice per day) and Finasteride 1mg (consume once per day) Option 2. Combo Hair Gel ( Minoxidil+Finasteride ) > apply once per day (1 pump)     Price: RM 350 per bottle (lasts 3 months, sold by clinic )      *I chose option 2 cause it's easier to apply the gel once per day compared to option 1.  2. To Consume Biotin (2400mg per day) > vitamin B7 to strengthen hair     Usage per day: 4 tablets with 600mg each (2 after lunch and 2 after dinner)     Price: RM62.30 per bottle (1 bottle lasts 1 month, sold by GNC ) Omega 3 Fish Oil  (1000mg per day) > reduce hair loss & increase hair density     Usage per day: 1 tablet (after meal)     Price: RM198 per bottle (1 bottle lasts 3 months, sold by GNC ) 3. To wash Foltene Phama Thinning Hair Shampoo >  boost thickness & volume

Day 13 after Procedure

I added a ' Photo Gallery ' page where all the photos of implanted area will be gathered there for easy comparison. Also, there's a ' Ask Me ' page where you can submit your inquiry to me so that I can get back to you personally. Anyway, I will be visiting clinic on tomorrow for follow up. So stay tuned for update on medication, shampoo & treatments related stuffs. Thanks for checking in! Cheers~ Good mixture of implanted and existing hair. Almost no redness spotted at implanted area. The transition between implanted area and existing hair area looks less awkward. Donor area is almost covered up.

Day 12 after Procedure

It's Monday and it's a brand new week! According to the post-operative instructions provided by clinic, I am allowed to resume brisk walking or mild jogging since Day 10 but can only resume mild to moderate workout after Day 14. Guess I will have to wait for few more days before I can hit the gym again :(  From the top view, I noticed a mixture of implanted hair and existing hair at the implanted area. Front and sides view. The donor area is less visible now. Have a nice week and see you again! Cheers~

Day 11 after Procedure

Since there's not much different with yesterday, I will just share photos on below. Thanks for checking in. Cheers~

Day 10 after Procedure

One thing I do noticed is that the skin tone of my implanted area is not as red as other transplant patients I found online. In fact, they blend in quite well with the other part of my head and look just  normal.     This is how it looks like from front and both sides. Of course the implanted area shows a higher density of hair compared to the rest but the overall look is far more natural than I thought. I even went out yesterday to have dinner with friends without wearing a cap and surprisingly there wasn't any creepy stare. I am quite satisfied with the result so far. Nothing much from the donor area. Thanks guys for following. Let me know if there's anything I can help with. Cheers~

Day 9 after Procedure

All the scabs were removed at implanted area. Very tempted to comb the hairs but don't think it's a good idea. Can't wait for them to grow longer. I think it will look more natural once the hairs around grow longer. Stay tuned! Cheers~

Day 8 after Procedure

One thing I realized lately is that hair wash does play a critical role in this whole transplant thingy. A firm and gentle hair wash is basically what everyone needs, transplant or not. I am proud to say 95% of scabs were removed after an extra 15 minutes in shower just to rub them off. I do noticed the skin tone of the implanted area is less reddish compared to past few days and I like to think that it's because the skin finally get to breath after dirt that was covering it was removed :) Honestly, the donor area is not really visible like how it looks in the photo. You have to wash the whole area thoroughly to remove any trapped cotton wool, cream applied & etc to keep it clean. Until next time, cheers~

Day 7 after Procedure (One Week!)

Today marks a week since I had the transplant procedure. I know, time flies right? Everything just feels normal except the fact that I am still using baby shampoo. After scabs at front line were removed, it looks much cleaner & tidier. Will have to wait for the hairs to grow longer for a more natural look. I think the grafts were quite well planted in direction wise. Thanks to Doctor Nicholas :) You can feel the surface is a little uneven if you touch the donor area. Other than that, it just feels normal. Hair around seems to grow perfectly. I know it's a long way before I can get a head full of hair. Treatments & medication waiting ahead ;) I will share as much as possible throughout the whole journey. Thanks for following. Stay tuned! Cheers~

Day 6 after Procedure

To remove scabs, I had decided to apply more pressure and rub gently with fingertip in circle motion on the implanted area during hair wash. The result is quite satisfying. Around 60% of scabs were removed. It looks so much cleaner now. According to doctor most of the scabs should be gone by Day 7 and I think I am quite on track. As for the back of scalp, the donor area is mostly healed and covered. I am amazed by the fast growing hair at the back. Someone asked whether I will do a second time transplant on the crown area (highlighted in red on above). During my previous consultation session with doctor, we found out there are still active hair scalps with acceptable density at the crown area. Therefore, doctor had advised to proceed with PRP treament + medication (Finasteride, Minoxidil) and observe the result for the mean time. So I will not do a second transplant, at least for now. Thanks for tuning in and let me know if you are curious on anything. Cheers~

Day 5 after Procedure

No more medication starting Day 5. That's one good thing :) Didn't noticed any fall out of scab after hair wash. Might need to apply more pressure next time. You probably can tell from the photo that the back of scalp is mostly healed. You will only notice the red area if you stare closely. Stay tuned for more updates! Cheers~

Day 4 after Procedure

Finally washed my whole head on my own with the mild baby shampoo  I bought yesterday. I did applied a little pressure when washing but not many scabs were removed. I think I will have to leave shampoo on for a few minutes before washing it off next time. Hope more scabs will fall off after next wash. Significant hair growth noticed near donor area. Still looks a bit red but not feeling pain or itchy at all.  Stay tuned for more updates! Cheers~

Baby Shampoo

As it takes around 14 days for the implanted hair to settle down (no wearing cap, no workout, no swimming till then), doctor advised to use mild baby shampoo and they actually recommended the brand of Johnson's. So that's what I got for myself. Thinking of it, it does makes sense cause new baby hair should be washed with baby shampoo. Can't wait for these babies to grow up! Cheers~

Day 3 after Procedure

Yeah Full-Head-Wash-Day! Finally I don't have to spray saline solution every 30 mins like how I did in the past two days which can get pretty annoying sometime ~.~ At clinic, I was taught to wash my head with baby shampoo, starting from the back to the front, gentle but firm so that scabs will be removed. Antibiotic cream was applied after wash to prevent infection as the donor area is not fully healed yet. According to clinic specialist, usually only around 10% of scabs fell off after first full head wash. All the scabs should be gone by Day 7 after head wash.  The back of scalp looks cleaner now. I can say most of the wounds are closed, no more bleeding but ache a bit if you try to touch it. I will update you guys again on tomorrow. Stay tuned! Feel free to comment on the meantime.
