Clinic Visit @ KL/PJ (incl. pricing & photo)

As mentioned on my previous post, I had visited 4 clinics in KL/PJ that offer hair transplant (FUE).
Let's go through one by one, shall we?

1. Beverly (PJ)
  • Consultation time: Around 30 mins (charged RM60)
  • Consultation content: Brief explanation on hair loss, estimation on grafts needed.
  • Good: Clinic provides other services as well: cosmetic surgery, dental & etc.
  • Not so good: No so clear on the cost of total package including medicine, PRP & etc. Surgical team is not from local which requires advance booking.

2. Premier (KL)
  • Consultation time: Around 45 mins (FOC)
  • Consultation content: Detailed explanation on hair loss, estimation on grafts needed.
  • Good: Was consulted by the surgical doctor himself who was able to explain the whole procedure in detail. Clear cost break down on the whole package.
  • Not so good: Premium price.

3. Inder (PJ)
  • Consultation time: Around 30 mins (FOC)
  • Consultation content: Hair scalp analysis, brief explanation on hair loss & estimation on grafts needed.
  • Good: Very affordable price, super friendly doctor and her team.
  • Not so good: As there's only one surgical doctor, you may need to book her schedule in real advance.

4. DHI (PJ)
  • Consultation time: Around 1 hour (FOC)
  • Consultation content: Detailed hair scalp analysis, explanation on hair loss & estimation on donor area & grafts needed.
  • Good: Very professional team, global clinic who only provides hair related service, detail analysis on hair scalp & donor area, clear cost break down on the whole package.
  • Not so good: Location not easy to find.

Finally, I put in all the important details in the table on below for comparison purpose.

During consultation, doctor will draw the ideal transplant area on your head just to help you visualize how it looks like. Below are my photos for the record.

I plan to do daily post on growth progression starting from the surgical day if I am going for it. So stay tuned!

Feel free to comment on below if there's anything I can help you with. Cheers~

    1. Hi, as I recall they all recommended slightly different number. But it all depends on your available grafts to harvest and also your financial sustainability. Thanks.

  4. Hi Tom, Thanks for the sharing. I am comparing the prices but read somewhere that DHI is costlier. How much did DHI charge for whole transplant ?

    1. Hi, ya DHI might be costlier but it's definitely not on the expensive side based on my survey. It's RM8 per graft so total would be RM 24,000. I was lucky to receive 20% discount thanks to raya promotion. This procedure cost covers the transplant procedure itself and a free PRP treatment. Other cost not covered are medication, shampoo and if you want extra PRP treatment you will have to pay. Hope this helps :)

  5. Hi Tom,
When you visited DHI for your first visit, were you consulted with the surgical Doctor ? Is DHI procedure better than the FUE procedure? Thanks for sharing :)

    1. Hi, I was consulted by the surgical doctor himself. From what I understand, for usual FUE method surgeon will first make tiny incisions with sharp tool and insert the extracted follicles into the incisions made earlier which will be two steps job while DHI method incise & insert the extracted follicles at the same time which should increase the precision. However, I would recommend you to get direct consultation from the clinic as I could be wrong. Thanks for dropping by!

Day 371 (1 Year !!!)

Hope everyone is doing fine. It is really shocking how one virus can affect so many things and even changed the way we live. The biggest take away for me is to live life to fullness because you won't know when will be the last... Ok back to progress. I have taken some photos back in June where it hit a year since my surgery and here they are. It definitely changed the landscape of my hair and also my overall look especially from the front. Implanted hair feels less disrupting now and become more natural compared to before. It may sound cheesy but I do feel more confident in front of people...this is by far the best decision I ever made in my life...for real. Not trying to promote anything but now might be even a better time to get transplant as we are spending most of the time at home which create a perfect time to let the hair grow and surprise others with new look after this pandemic is finally over. Just a thought that crossed my mind while I am writing this. I just did another

Day 324 (10+ Months)

So much has happened over the past few months. Hope everyone is safe and coping well with the 'New Norm'. We will get through this together! It's almost 11 months now since my hair transplant procedure back in Jun last year. Was planning to have another PRP session last month but got stuck at home instead. Anyway let's see some photos update.  Hair on the front is growing really well over time, especially the middle front area where most of the healthy hair follicles were planted. It's definitely noticeable now on how long the hair had grown. Transplanted hair seems to be a little bit thicker than original hair around and can be styled just like normal hair. Will need more work on the crown area to balance out the overall hair density. It's a slow process but I am glad it is making progress. Everything's been good so far. I only put on shampoo once in every two to three days ever since announcement of restriction order. Everyone st
