Day 1 after Procedure

After a sleepless night with thick bandages wrapped around the back of my head, finally it's time to remove them!

This morning at the clinic, bandages were removed, donor area was cleansed & shampooed and antibiotic cream was applied to avoid infection. No kidding, it really hurtssssssssss when nurse was ripping off those bandages from the back of my scalp.

I was advised to wash the donor area with mild baby shampoo and apply antibiotic cream twice a day until it's healed. Doctor did emphasized multiple times not to touch the implanted area in any condition.

This is right after bandages were removed. Those white dots were the antibiotic cream.

Nothing much different with the implanted area. It just got less reddish.

    I would like to know if the same donor area can be extracted the second time for a second hair transplant if more hair is needed? or the fue extraction is just a one time thing where can only be done once only on the same area. Thank you.

      Hi jayb, as I know, the donor area will be empty once heathy hair follicle is extracted, meaning it's a one time thing at the same area. You may consult doctor for further detail ;)

Day 371 (1 Year !!!)

Hope everyone is doing fine. It is really shocking how one virus can affect so many things and even changed the way we live. The biggest take away for me is to live life to fullness because you won't know when will be the last... Ok back to progress. I have taken some photos back in June where it hit a year since my surgery and here they are. It definitely changed the landscape of my hair and also my overall look especially from the front. Implanted hair feels less disrupting now and become more natural compared to before. It may sound cheesy but I do feel more confident in front of people...this is by far the best decision I ever made in my life...for real. Not trying to promote anything but now might be even a better time to get transplant as we are spending most of the time at home which create a perfect time to let the hair grow and surprise others with new look after this pandemic is finally over. Clinic Visit @ KL/PJ (incl. pricing & photo)

As mentioned on my previous post, I had visited 4 clinics in KL/PJ that offer hair transplant (FUE). Let's go through one by one, shall we? 1. Beverly (PJ) Consultation time: Around 30 mins (charged RM60)   Consultation content: Brief explanation on hair loss, estimation on grafts needed. Good: Clinic provides other services as well: cosmetic surgery, dental & etc.  Not so good: No so clear on the cost of total package including medicine, PRP & etc. Surgical team is not from local which requires advance booking.  2. Premier (KL) Consultation time: Around 45 mins (FOC) Consultation content: Detailed explanation on hair loss, estimation on grafts needed. Day 324 (10+ Months)

So much has happened over the past few months. Hope everyone is safe and coping well with the 'New Norm'. We will get through this together! It's almost 11 months now since my hair transplant procedure back in Jun last year. Was planning to have another PRP session last month but got stuck at home instead. Anyway let's see some photos update.  Hair on the front is growing really well over time, especially the middle front area where most of the healthy hair follicles were planted. It's definitely noticeable now on how long the hair had grown. Transplanted hair seems to be a little bit thicker than original hair around and can be styled just like normal hair. Will need more work on the crown area to balance out the overall hair density. It's a slow process but I am glad it is making progress. Everything's been good so far.
