Day 14 after Procedure (Clinic Visit, Medication & Cost)

Let me share what I've got from clinic visit. Doctor advised to start taking medication from Day 14 onward as below.

1. To Apply
  • Option 1. Minoxidil 5% (apply twice per day) and Finasteride 1mg (consume once per day)
  • Option 2. Combo Hair Gel (Minoxidil+Finasteride) > apply once per day (1 pump)
Price: RM 350 per bottle (lasts 3 months, sold by clinic)
*I chose option 2 cause it's easier to apply the gel once per day compared to option 1.

2. To Consume
  • Biotin (2400mg per day) > vitamin B7 to strengthen hair
Usage per day: 4 tablets with 600mg each (2 after lunch and 2 after dinner)
Price: RM62.30 per bottle (1 bottle lasts 1 month, sold by GNC)

  • Omega 3 Fish Oil (1000mg per day) > reduce hair loss & increase hair density
Usage per day: 1 tablet (after meal)
Price: RM198 per bottle (1 bottle lasts 3 months, sold by GNC)

3. To wash
Price: RM 100 per bottle (sold by clinic)

4. PRP treatment

There's one free session included in the transplant package which I will be doing on Day 30.
Doctor suggested to have a total of 4 sessions to optimize the result.

Finally, I will upload photo of Day 14 at 'Photo Gallery' page.
Stay tuned for more. Cheer~

    1. Hi, you will have to consult doctor on the safety part. I personally think that gel is safer since it's applied externally and more effective cause it goes directly to the bald area. Just my personal opinion. Thanks for dropping by 😊

  3. Thanks for replying Tom I am definitely afraid of the side effects even if it has minimal chance might consider buying the gel some day

Day 371 (1 Year !!!)

Hope everyone is doing fine. It is really shocking how one virus can affect so many things and even changed the way we live. The biggest take away for me is to live life to fullness because you won't know when will be the last... Ok back to progress. I have taken some photos back in June where it hit a year since my surgery and here they are. It definitely changed the landscape of my hair and also my overall look especially from the front. Implanted hair feels less disrupting now and become more natural compared to before. It may sound cheesy but I do feel more confident in front of people...this is by far the best decision I ever made in my life...for real. Not trying to promote anything but now might be even a better time to get transplant as we are spending most of the time at home which create a perfect time to let the hair grow and surprise others with new look after this pandemic is finally over. Just a thought that crossed my mind while I am writing this. I just did another ...

Day 102 (3m 1w) after Procedure

Just had my 3rd PRP treatment yesterday and it felt good. Doctor mentioned implanted hairs will eventually fall out after 2 months plus and we will only see fuller hair after 6 to 9 months. Hair looks messy because I tried to style it my way :) Doctor also mentioned the implanted hair might be poking upward at first but will gradually grow in a more natural direction later. Guess we will have to observe on that over time. Will keep this blog active, so do come back for update! Cheers~

Day 324 (10+ Months)

So much has happened over the past few months. Hope everyone is safe and coping well with the 'New Norm'. We will get through this together! It's almost 11 months now since my hair transplant procedure back in Jun last year. Was planning to have another PRP session last month but got stuck at home instead. Anyway let's see some photos update.  Hair on the front is growing really well over time, especially the middle front area where most of the healthy hair follicles were planted. It's definitely noticeable now on how long the hair had grown. Transplanted hair seems to be a little bit thicker than original hair around and can be styled just like normal hair. Will need more work on the crown area to balance out the overall hair density. It's a slow process but I am glad it is making progress. Everything's been good so far. I only put on shampoo once in every two to three days ever since announcement of restriction order. Everyone st...
